Bambiblauw sweater maraton: Double sided leather sweater

This sweater is already from some months ago, but I could not post it due to circumstances. The sweater is so cute, that I just had to post it!  so enjoy the pictures! 
Deze trui is al van enkele maanden terug, maar door omstandigheden kon ik het niet posten. De trui is zo schattig  dat ik hem echt wel moest posten. Dus veel plezier met de foto's!

I already told it here.  I am starting a sweater marathon with the Happy Nature collection of Bambiblauw. Now I sewed a double sided leather sweater. 
Ik had het hier al eens verteld. Ik ben bezig aan een sweater marathon met de Happy Nature collectie van Bambiblauw. Nu heb ik een leather sweater gemaakt die je aan beide kanten kan dragen.

When do you know that you sewed something beautiful for your kids? When they do not want to take it off! And this sweater is approved by my toddler.
Wanneer weet je dat je iets moois gemaakt hebt voor jouw kinderen? Als ze het niet meer willen uitdoen! En deze sweater is goedgekeurd door mijn peuter.

The next sweater in the Bambiblauw marathon is being made during my sewing classes. And no, it is not a leather sweater. If you want to know which one I have made, just follow my blog.

Stashvember: Bambiblauw sweater marathon

Normally I don't like buying something online, because I prefer to feel the fabric. But when Bambiblauw presented their new collection Happy Nature 2, I could not resist of buying some. 

Ik hou niet zo van online shoppen omdat ik graag de stof voel. Maar toen Bambiblauw haar nieuwe collectie Happy Nature 2 voorstelde moest ik gewoon enkele panelen bestellen.

By the way, the online shopping went smoothly. And I already did this a second, third... time.  A bit too much to be honest, so stashvember came just in time.

Het online winkelen ging trouwens erg vlot. En ik heb het al eens een tweede, derde... keer gedaan. Al een beetje te veel om eerlijk te zijn. Stashvember kwam dus juist op tijd.

To come back on the title of my newest post: I am starting a sweater marathon with the Happy Nature fabric. As the fabric is so beautiful, I kept it for the sewing evenings on Monday where I can have some assistance in case of issues. 

Maar om terug te komen op de titel van mijn nieuwste blog post: Ik start een sweater marathon met de Happy Nature stof. Omdat ik niets fout wou doen met deze prachtige stof, hou ik deze voor de naaiavonden waar ik assistentie heb in geval van problemen.

The leather sweater of La Maison Victor is off course my first pattern. When you look here , you know why it is the first pattern to be used.

De leather sweater van La Maison Victor is natuurlijk mijn eerste patroon.  Als je hier  kijkt weet je waarom het mijn eerste patroon is dat ik gebruikt heb.

This fabric is rather thin, certainly when it is cold. So he will have to wear something underneath it.

Deze stof is vrij dun, zeker als het wat kouder is. Dus hij zal er iets onder moeten dragen.

Het volgend project in de sweater marathon is ook de Leather sweater, maar dan draagbaar aan beide kanten. Dus hou mijn blog de komende weken zeker in de gaten!

Finally, a sweater for the husband

I think all the mothers here will agree with me... It is so easy to sew clothing for kids. When their clothing piece isn't okay, you can use it as clothing for getting dirty. But husbands they don't need such clothing!
Ik denk dat alle moeders me hier wel in zullen volgen... Het is zo eenvoudig om kinderkledij te naaien. Als een kledingstuk dan niet perfect is kan je het nog altijd als speelkleding gebruiken. Maar echtgenoten hebben zo'n kleding niet (meer) nodig.

Husbands want real perfect clothing. And finally, this weekend I sewed the Tour Tshirt of La Maison Victor. In my opinion, it is like the leather sweater but then for adults.
Echtgenoten willen echte perfecte kledingstukken. En eindelijk, dit weekend naaide ik het Tour Tshirt van La Maison Victor. Eigenlijk, in mijn ogen, de volwassen versie van de Leather sweater.

I used "matelassé" (stiched double-layered jersey) in blue and the sleeves were blue sweater fabric. 
Ik gebruikte "matelassé" (doorstikte dubbellagige tricot) in het blauw en de mouwen waren in blauw sweater stof. 

The sleeves were finished with binding as I didn't have enough fabric for the entire sleeves. Note to my self: buy more fabric the next time. :-)
De mouwen werkte ik af met boordstof omdat ik niet genoeg had voor de ganse mouw. Opmerking aan mezelf: meer stof kopen de volgende keer. :-)

And when the sweater was finished, my husband looked great (as always). A nice gift to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.
En toen de sweater klaar was, zag mijn echtgenoot er goed uit (zoals altijd). Een prima cadeau om onze vijfde huwelijksverjaardag te vieren.

From Leonora sweater to Leo sweater to...

The first thing I thought when I saw the pattern for the Leonora sweater of La Maison Victor, I'll turn it into a Leo sweater. You just can't make a Leonora Sweater with 2 boys.

Het eerste wat ik dacht toen ik het patroon van de Leonora sweater zag in de laatste editie van La Maison Victor, daar zal ik eens een Leo sweater van maken. Een Leonora sweater kan echt niet met 2 jongens in huis. 

And it must have been faith, because a couple of weeks before I had bought thin sweater fabric with little stars on it. It immediately popped up in my mind when I started with my sweater.

En het moet het lot geweest zijn, want enkele weken daarvoor had ik een dunne sweaterstof met sterren gekocht. Ik moest er meteen aan denken toen ik aan deze sweater begon. 

The sweater was really easy to make and it fitted the my little boy well. I don't know what made me take my scissors and what made me change the below of the sweater. So from a Leonora sweater to a Leo sweater it ended up in a semi Leo sweater with binding.

De trui was echt eenvoudig om te maken en het paste de kleinste goed. Ik kan ook niet goed zeggen waarom ik de schaar in het onderste van de trui heb gezet. Maar van een Leonora sweater ging het dus naar Leo Sweater om te eindigen in een Semi Leo sweater met boordstof. 

But the little one was happy, so I am also...

Maar de kleinste was blij, dus dan ben ik dat ook...

One fabric, Two shirts for the summer

One day I was in my favorite fabric shop looking into the coupons when I found this fabric of Lillestoff. I immediate fell in love with it...
Op een zekere dag was ik aan het snuisteren door de coupons in mijn favoriete stoffenwinkel toen ik dit stofje van Lillestoff vond. Ik werd er onmiddellijk verliefd op...

In one of my previous posts I already used it to sew a baby cap and headband. But now it was time to use it for my boys!
In één van mijn vorige blogs had ik dit stofje gebruikt om een babymutsje en haarband te maken. Maar nu was het tijd om het voor mijn jongens te gebruiken!


As for my 2-year old the T-shirt may be a cute one, so I used the envelop neck T shirt of the Singer book. I struggled a lot with the envelop neck and it still isn't perfect, but I didn't dare to sew the neck again. 
Voor mijn tweejarige mocht het T-shirt nog wel schattig zijn. Dus gebruikte ik het Tshirt met de envelope hals van het Grote Singer naaiboek. Ik had wel wat last met de envelope hals en het is nog steeds niet perfect, maar ik durfde niet meer lostornen.

But for my 4-year old I didn't want it to be cute. So I sewed the Malik pattern of the magazine La Maison Victor. And the combination with a cool jeans shirt turns this tank top into a cool outfit for the summer!
Maar voor mijn vierjarige mocht het niet schattig zijn. Dus naaide ik het Malik patroon van het magazine La Maison Victor. En in combinatie met een stoer jeans hemd is dit een marcelleke deel van een coole outfit!

So autumn... please stay away for a while!
Dus herfst... blijf nog even weg!

Arrrr! A pirates short

Aye matey

Ahoi matroos

With this warm weather, nothing is better then a cool short for a little pirate.

Met dit warm weer is er niets beter dan een stoere short for een kleine piraat.

The pattern came from the magazine La Maison Victor and is called Ray Short. It is such an easy and comfy pattern for little sailors! And if you don't do the top stitching, it will even take less time.
Het patroon komt van het tijdschrift La Maison Victor en het noemt de Ray Short. Het is zo'n eenvoudig en comfortabel patroon voor kleine matrozen. En als je het sierstiksel niet doet, neemt het zelfs nog minder tijd in beslag.

The fabric is jeans that I bought last year. It is a cool boys fabric, which you don't find often in the stores. But until now I didn't know what to sew with it.
De stof is jeans en kocht ik vorig jaar. Het is een cool jongensstof dat je niet dikwijls ziet in winkels. Maar tot nu wist ik niet wat ik er mee moest naaien.

The sides are finished with piping which adds a nice touch to the shorts.
De zijkanten zijn afgewerkt met biais wat een extra toets geeft aan de short. 

 I have already chosen a fabric for the following Ray shorts for my little pirate.
Ik heb al een stofje klaar liggen voor een volgende Ray short voor mijn kleine piraat.

The flying animals sweater

I believe it is almost a year ago that I started sewing and I have never used a twin needle, just because I didn't know how easy it was. Fortunately I am following some lessons with a nice lady with a lot of patience.
Het is nu ongeveer een jaar geleden dat de naaimicrobe mij te pakken kreeg. Tot nu had ik nog nooit een tweelingsnaald gebruikt, gewoon omdat ik niet wist hoe eenvoudig het eigenlijk is. Gelukkig volg ik lessen bij een hele lieve en geduldige dame.

I needed the twin needle because I wanted to sew a "leather sweater" for my son. The pattern was published in the magazine of La Maison Victor and it is for a nice and comfortable sweater and the special effect is created by on the shoulders were another fabric can be used as a contrast with the other parts of the sweater.
De tweelingsnaald had ik nodig voor de "leather sweater" die ik wilde naaien voor mijn zoon. Het patroon staat in het tijdschrift La Maison Victor en het is voor een mooie en comfortabele sweater met een speciaal effect op de schouders. Daar gebruik je een contrasterende stof in combinatie met de rest van de trui.

I used green sweater fabric, brown nicky velour fabric and then I used a very cute fabric with airplanes, monkeys and ghosts on it. The fabric is called Animal flight by Lillestoff. The first time that my oldest son needed to fit the sweater, he didn't want to take off the sweater.
Ik gebruikte groene sweater stof in combinatie met bruine nicky velours en ik gebruikte ook een schattig tricot stofje met vliegtuigen, apen en spoken op. De stof noemt Animal flight van Lillestoff. De eerste keer dat mijn oudste zoon de trui moest passen, wilde hij deze al niet meer uit doen.

But he had to, because I needed to turn up the sleeves and the bottom of the sweater. Yesterday I did this and today he already went to school with it.
Maar hij moest wel, want de mouwen en de onderkant van de trui moesten nog omgezoomd worden.
Gisteren deed ik dit en vandaag is hij er al met naar school.

I am a proud mom...
Ik ben een fiere mama...
